Learn the theory & science behind how these techniques expand our resilience physically, mentally, emotionally, & spiritually & put the techniques into practice.
Daily practice sessions & workshops are designed to help yoga students who wish to get more of yoga’s benefits in their daily life & to help yoga teachers better understand the resilience building aspects of yoga so they can share them with their students.
Yoga teachers are eligible for 20 contact-hours of continuing education credit through the Yoga Alliance.

"Monica is a knowledgeable professional in everything she does. The dedication to her work comes through not only in practice, but also in the nuggets of history and theory that she is able to provide about yoga and beyond! I attended a Relaxation and Rejuvenation Retreat led by Monica, during which she guided a small group of women through several different types of yoga and meditation. Though I'm an experienced yogi, we practiced types of yoga that I had never heard of and Monica supported our practice with information about how it impacts the body and the roots of the practice. During meditation, I was able to sit longer than I ever had before with Monica as my guide and she taught us a variety of techniques for stilling the mind that I have since used independently with great success. I got a Thai massage from Monica that made me feel incredibly loose. She made me feel very comfortable and relaxed, while moving my body in ways that stretched and opened up both muscles and joints. Throughout the retreat, Monica was prepared with the perfect background music and accessories for each session to add to the atmosphere and made sure we got plenty of variety - she even taught us a Zumba class! The entire retreat was well organized and relaxing, with engaging sessions, delicious and healthy food, and wonderful company. As a former scientist, Monica approaches her new calling with the same meticulousness and attention to detail as her former line of work. 600-630 Optional resilience building practice
730-930 Morning practice: asana, pranayama, meditation, inquiry, etc.
1500-1700 Theory & Practice Workshop
1830-1945 Evening practice: yin, restorative, nidra, meditation, bhakti, journaling, etc.
Note: Program will begin at 1500 on Thursday, October 13th and end after the morning session at 930 the final day, Tuesday, October 18th. Exact daily schedule may differ slightly from the one above.
What level practitioner is this for?
All levels are welcome! Options are always given for all levels so everyone can practice where they are and have options to challenge themselves.
Do I have to be a yoga teacher to attend the retreat?
Nope! This retreat is designed for both the practitioner who is excited and curious about how to use yoga to increase their resilience and for yoga teachers to better understand this and be able to share it with their students.
How difficult will the asana be?
The morning asana practice will be an invitation to play at the edge of your comfort zone and every participant will have options to find their own edge. As it is a resilience training retreat, you will be supported in finding this edge in a skillful way that deeply engages your mindset, mind, and your breath and you will practice creating relaxation during challenge and release after.
When does the retreat officially begin and end?
We will begin with an afternoon session at 3pm on Thursday, October 18 and end after the morning session at 9:30am on Tuesday October 22. If logistics prevent you from being there for the complete schedule, just let me know and we'll see what we can do. :)
"I had the incredible opportunity to attend Megan and Monica's weekend retreat in Lyons, Colorado! It was just the recharge I needed to get my spring off to a great start! The retreat was a wonderful opportunity to dive deeper into my reiki practice, meet incredible women, and press the reset button. Megan and Monica were so well organized, yet relaxed. No detail was missed. From the daily programs to the menu to the perfect little flowers in the guest rooms, everything felt just right. Monica's yoga sessions were truly eye opening, practicing in ways I have never done before and you cannot find at your local corepower studio. Monica shared the techniques she learned while practicing in India with us such as using voice. Her guidance brought me to a much more deliberate practice that truly helped me ground in my poses in a way I have never been able to before. A few weeks after the retreat I am still benefiting from it. I feel every day a greater awareness of myself and my surroundings. I am getting so much more out of my yoga practice than I have in years. And it was a lot of fun too! "
